Puerto Aventuras’ marina has the capacity to host over 400 boats and yachts and it is home to a large number of fishing and diving tour operators. The area is well served by a number of restaurants, cafes and bars that cater to all tastes. Most restaurants are on the dolphin lagoon and feature lovely views of the boats moored in the marina. The town has two currency exchange locations and a couple of ATMs, with the majority of restaurants and shops accepting both American dollars and Mexican pesos.
Puerto Aventuras is the perfect location for a sailing adventure, whether you are a first-time sailor or an experienced boater. The waters here are calm and shallow, so you can learn and practice on your own or take a lesson from one of the local professionals. Several companies offer lessons for all ages and abilities. Some of these are offered in Spanish, while others focus on English-speaking families or groups. There are also a number of scuba diving companies that have bevy of multi-lingual instructors and dive masters, plus state-of-the-art equipment to ensure your safety and enjoyment. You can also visit the nearby cenotes, with stalactites and tunnels that are breathtaking. These include Chacmool with its underwater caves and the Blue, Crystal and Hidden Cenotes.
