Pc cooling is an important factor in the performance of your PC, and there are several options available to help keep temperatures low. Two of the most popular options are air and liquid cooling systems.

Liquid cooling involves a water pump, a radiator, and pipes or hoses to cycle the coolant through your CPU, GPU, and other components. It can be more effective at taking heat away from your system than air cooling, but it also requires a slightly higher investment. The best choice depends on how you use your PC and what kind of gaming or computing workloads you expect to put your hardware through.

The most important component of a liquid cooling system is the water block, which replaces your CPU’s heat sink and has an attached fan. It is filled with water and connected to the IHS with a layer of thermal paste, which helps ensure an optimal heat transfer. The coolant moves through the waterblock, which absorbs heat, then flows upward to a radiator where fans pull it out into the air. The coolant then returns to the waterblock and begins the cycle over again.

The other major component of a liquid cooling system is the reservoir and tubing. You will want to invest in a clear reservoir and tubing for aesthetic reasons, and some coolants have added colors that can make your system more visually appealing. In either case, you will need to regularly clean and change your coolant to maintain peak efficiency.
